With more than 400+ resident species of birds visiting or living and around 5,000 to 6,000 migratory birds of diffrent species flock to the wetlands from the northern hemisphere during the winter every year. The wetlands of Ghrana (Jammu) Hokersar, & Dal lake in kashmir, visitors come from all over the world to explore sites along the shallow mud flats, inland waters, back bays and forests. Birds are so prevalent in the area, it’s been named the top bird-watching destination in J&K.
Bird-watchers can spot bar-headed geese, egrets, Storks, ibis, and herons of every discription and color. Rarities such as Baillon's crake and White fronted geese may also be seen, as well as birds of prey such as Steppe Eagle, Eurasian Marsh Harrier and Long legged Buzzard.

Envirnomental Park was selected as a premier or “gateway” site because of its extensive services for visitors, from a 2.25-mile boardwalk, and a variety of educational activities, aswell as more than 100+ species of birds, including the rare visitor Taiga Flycatcher. The area encompasses more than 260ha of natural habitats and boasts astounding varieties of trees like Acacia Nilotica (Kikar) Aegle Marmelos (Bel) Azadirachta Indica (Neem) and Dalbergia Sissoo species.
